Marriage Doesn’t Have to Be Miserable.

I’ve noticed a trend online lately, post after post from women talking about how much they resent their husbands. How they’re exhausted, disconnected, irritated, or counting down the minutes until he’s out of the house. And while I understand that marriage can be hard and seasons can stretch people thin, I read those posts and feel something completely different.

I can’t fathom loathing my husband. Not even a little.

Because the truth is, I’m more in love with him now than I was when we first met. Not the butterflies-and-adrenaline kind of love, but the steady, rooted, grown-up kind, the kind that comes from watching someone show up day after day with integrity, tenderness, and grit.

My husband is an incredible father. The kind who doesn’t “help,” but parents. The kind who gets down on the floor with our kids, who listens to them, who teaches them, who protects them. The kind who makes our home feel safe just by being in it.

He’s my best friend. My person. The one I laugh with, vent to, dream with, and lean on. He’s the one who sees me in all my versions, the strong ones, the tired ones, the grieving ones, and never flinches. He’s the one who has held space for my losses, my healing, my growth, and my softness.

He’s a hard worker, not just in the “job” sense, but in the way he invests in our life. Our marriage. Our family. He doesn’t coast. He doesn’t check out. He shows up with intention, even when life is heavy.

And I think that’s why my attraction to him has only deepened. There’s something unbelievably beautiful about a man who chooses his family with his actions, not just his words. Something magnetic about a man who is consistent, kind, and present.

I know not everyone has this. I know some women are hurting, lonely, or carrying more than their share. But I also know that good men exist, loving husbands exist, and they deserve to be spoken about, celebrated, and appreciated.

So this is me appreciating mine.

Not because he’s perfect. Not because our marriage is effortless. But because he is a man worth loving loudly. A man who makes me proud to be his wife. A man who has earned every word of gratitude I have for him.

And in a world that keeps telling women they should resent their husbands, I’m choosing to say the opposite.

I love mine. Deeply. Fully. And more every year.
