Today, I’m Practicing Gratitude.
I’ve been hearing that my writing has been too heavy, and honestly… I get it. Life has been heavy. Healing is heavy. And I’ve always promised myself that this space would be real, raw, and not curated.
But today, I want to shift the lens a little.
Not because the hard things disappeared, but because gratitude deserves its own spotlight too.
Today, I’m grateful for the small things that quietly hold me together:
The way my kids laugh from their belly, like joy is their first language.
A husband who shows up in the everyday, not just the big moments.
Friends who feel like home, even on the days I don’t feel like myself.
A faith that has been patient with me, even when I wasn’t patient with it.
Therapy sessions that remind me I’m allowed to grow at my own pace.
The quiet moments where I realize I’m not who I used to be, and that’s a good thing.
Gratitude doesn’t erase the hard parts.
But it does make room for hope.
And today, I’m choosing to notice the good that’s been here all along.
If you’re reading this, maybe take a moment to name one thing you’re grateful for too.
Even if it’s small.
Especially if it’s small.
